Finding Pilisip and Eliza was not the easiest thing... walked around Mugie for a few hours looking for them as they were not at the meeting point.. the old station under the hill.
Pilisip, the Samburu Moran seems to be a very popular man.. Endless phone calls to his girlfriend ..and other people about Cows while I was painting him.
F A K E P L A S T I C F L OW E R S . The feathers from his floral headdress kept flying away in the wind, so I gave him my mirror (must use the mirror for a 'fresh eye' when painting.. always) to fix his feathers back into place. I couldn't get it back for a while though, because he liked using it too, to look at himself.

THE BIG BEAUTIFUL NORTH.
Me, Tom, 35 camels and 15 Samburu.
4 days wandering through the Ndoto Mountains. Untouched wild Kenya! Painting along the way. we woke up before light, walked to the next camp and feeling totally exhausted set up our painting stuff. Our paintbrushes racing with the fast changing light. Occasionally I had to hold onto the paper so it didn’t blow away in the wind on the top of LKanto the final camp.

PAINTING ON BEAUTIFUL SUYIAN , LAIKIPIA, KENYA
MAY 2019
Had so much fun painting Douglas and Marieni from the Dorobo Tribe at wonderful Suyian Soul camp. One of the days I painted camels when they had returned to their boma in the fabulous light of the golden hour. Very friendly and curious camels were desperate to try and take a nibble of my easel and taste my paint.. not the lead white please!!
